Confined Space Casualty Care Training
Our Confined Space Casualty Care (CSCC) programme is the vital missing link between industrial first aid and rescue from confined spaces.
This advanced course will save lives and improve the outcome of victims of accidents in confined spaces.
The training provides the essential skills to save lives in challenging, hazardous environments with a focus on stabilising the casualty's condition before extrication.
The course has been developed by confined space rescuer David Nice, a paramedic and former key member of London's HART (Hazardous Area response Team), in response to his first-hand experience at serious incidents.
All too often the focus is on rescue first. In hazardous confined space accidents, this approach further endangers both the victim and colleagues.
Undertaking this training will significantly improve the management of both conventional trauma and medical emergencies in hazardous confined spaces, such as silos, tunnels, sewers and tanks, and in incidents involving Fire and Explosions, Hazardous Atmospheres, Entrapment, and Drowning and Asphyxiation (FHED).
It is the only First Aid course of its kind in the UK that specifically addresses the unique conditions and limitations associated with confined space first aid and rescue.

Our Confined Space Casualty Care Training improves survival rates and reduces risks.

Course Overview
CSCC equips responders with specialised skills for managing casualties in confined spaces, addressing unique challenges and improving survival rates.
As well as First Aid procedures, our Specialist Casualty Care Training programme incorporates rescue techniques and emergency procedures suitable for confined spaces and also includes specific training on using escape breathing apparatus.
Pre-Hospital Management
CSCC emphasises rapid assessment and intervention, focusing on stabilising the casualty's condition before extrication and professional medical help arrives.
Advanced Equipment Use
CSCC includes instruction on use of equipment for advanced airway management, chemical intoxication treatment, and the prevention and management asphyxiation using portable oxygen supplies.
